When republicans were in control of the senate, the complaint from our leaders in the senate was that republicans would not allow them to do the people's work. Now that democratic leadership is in control the story has not changed, complaining about republicans would not let them do anything, republicans were playing politics rather than national security. I wonder why they did not employ the same tactics (when we were in the minority) republicans are now using against us? Democratic leadership was so afraid of republicans removing the ability of them to filibuster if the republicans could not get their ways and of course, Ben Nelson was there, the gang of 16? Like senators Rockefeller, Claire McCaskill, Mary Landrieu and Ben Nelson who voted to give immunity to the telecommunication companies despite that opinion polls are dead-set against such move. We don't have any hope! Claire in particular that is supporting Obama for change, I guess we can only fight each other and marginalize fellow democrats. I am not surprised about Ben Nelson of Nebraska, he was never truly belong to us but disappointed about Jay and Mary Landrieu. If we cannot even fight this good fight that polls including the ones done by the senate democrats, the public is with us, how are we going to fight republicans who play edge-hardball politics when Obama or Clinton or even Edwards is our nominee.

I have never seen men and women that disregard opinion polls and still do things the way the republicans want them to do even when they are supposedly in charge than the current leadership in both houses. No backbone, no spine and it is a shame because our country right now needs people who are truly ready to stand with the people and we will not give in every second. How can a lame-duck president have so much control over the opposition party that is in control of both houses? We truly need progressive democrats, the ones that would play the hardball back to the max with the republicans. This is not a touchy-feeling politics, it is the republican brand, edgy hard-core. If you are not ready to fight back then maybe you allow those who are willing to fight for our principles that are truly good for the country come in and take the good fight back to the GOP.
