From the Politico:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) will bring the Senate in for a series of pro forma sessions over the next two weeks in order to avoid recess appointments by President Bush.
The Senate will convene every couple of days - Nov. 20, Nov. 23, Nov. 27, Nov. 29 - in order to prevent Bush from taking advantage of its absence to place individuals in positions requiring Senate confirmation.

to keep Bush from abusing the recess apointment
privilage.
For the reader's information:
The Recess Appointment was created for emergency puposes when congress was out of session months at a time and it took weeks for law-makers to get to the Capitol.
The president needed a way to appoint a replacement if someone died or had to resign.
It was NOT meant as a political tool to ram unpopular nominees in and avoid the confirmation
process.
These days congress is seldom out of session more than 2 months and it only takes 3 hrs to get across
country. Both parties have over-used this manuver.
Senator Reid should keep the senate in Pro Forma session for all recesses for the rest of this presidency and future presidents should stop using it for non-emergency purposes.
Thank you, and please, don't allow recess until Bush and Cheney are long gone.
