Am I missing something? The Washington Post Votes Database on Senate actions show Senator Reid voting NO, and all the other Dem senators voting YES. Is this a misprint? I sure hope so. The url is Link

Thank you for standing up for the wishes of the majority of the American people, and pushing for an exit from Iraq and the illegal war being waged in our name.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks to all who voted with you, including the four wonderful Republican Senators, including our own Senator Hagel.

Because Republicans continue to block votes on important amendments to the Defense Authorization bill, we can make no further progress on Iraq and this bill at this time.
For these reasons, I have temporarily laid aside the Defense Authorization bill and have entered a motion to reconsider.
But let me be clear to my Republican colleagues -- I emphasize the word "temporarily". We will do everything in our power to change course in Iraq. We will do everything in our power to complete consideration of a Defense Authorization bill. We must do both.

I am so happy that you are finally standing up to the Republicans! I love it that you are trying to force an up or down vote. This is the only way to stop the war, by standing up to the Republicans despite their noise.
Good work and keep going, please! My son's life is in your hands.

My husband and I were spellbound while watching Bill Moyers Journal on KUED Friday, July 13. He had the very well know Mr. Fine and Mr. Nichols on his program discussing the idea of the impeachment of President Bush. Every Congressman should see this program as required viewing. The judicial branch of our government has an obligation to bring this issue forward since Bush is committing crimes against the constitution. It was suggested that Nancy Pelosi should approach the judiciary committee and put it in motion.
Senator Reid, since Nancy Pelosi has said impeachment is not on the table then I truly think you are the person with the most integrity to move forward on this issue.
Since I can't begin to explain all the issued raised on this program I would strongly recomment you get a copy of this program and view it for yourself.
My husband Ed and myself support your actions. We abhor the monarchial antics of George Bush and believe you have the integrity and strengh to take stronger actrion against he and Dick Cheney.

The staff at my school worked hard this entire last year to meet the expectations of AYP - ESEA/No Child Left Behind. We targeted instruction, taught summer school, re-arranged the schedule to teach a longer instructional day, and basically worked hard to teach to the test.
Our school made AYP for the 2006-2007 school year.
I just had a discussion with my principal. He said that because the expectations are so high next year, there is no possible way we can make AYP in 2007-2008. For some reason, we have to make impossible improvements because Nevada decided to raise the bar this year. The school district as a whole has failed AYP every year since the expectations were implemented. Almost every school in Clark County Nevada can expect to be printed in the paper next year as failures.
So the year hasn't started but the goal is already impossible. The good news is teachers can go back to teaching authentic instruction because teaching to the test will not even help us this year. We can give in to failure, do the best job we know how, and take the punishment. We can look forward to teachers being replaced and staff moved when we haven't made the goal. WHY? Does this legislation make sense to anyone?
100% of students passing a standardized test is impossible and eventually EVERY school in America will fail. Not everyone who goes to public schools will pass a standardized test. Public schools teach all students whether they can pass a certain type of test or not.
It's so discouraging to work so hard but never be able to reach the goal. We were set up to fail the minute this legislation passed.

As many of people know, I am an enviromentalist, the league of conservative voters told me about this bill that needs to be past. I wrote my senators and you can too. I asked my congressman and senators, this is what I said;
They (the league of conservative voters) say I don't have to be a member of Congress that can play a role in passing global warming legislation.
Senators Barbara Boxer (D-CA) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT) need your help to build support for an important global warming bill that they have introduced - The Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act. What are you doing?
This could be the global warming solution we've been waiting for! As long as you act now...
I urge you to co-sponsor the Sanders-Boxer bill.
The Global Warming Pollution Reduction Act is supposred to tackle global warming they say. We do need for greater reliance on clean, renewable energy sources
We need and they want to reduce U.S. emissions by 80% below 1990 levels by 2050; I think we should try and get of the oil dependance of the middle east, to many problems there.
Don't you think we should all promote energy efficiency and emissions reduction cars; and a program to help our businesses meet pollution reduction goals without suffering economic losses, which I feel ecology does.
I think I want you to say, YES to the bill! Take a stand against global warming.
They say that it is critical for us to build bipartisan support for the Sanders-Boxer bill. Thank you
Is it a solution for global warming?
Sincerely,
